OLD FASHION HYMN SING – following worship today in the Sanctuary. Come sing some all-time favorites. And yes, we’re taking requests (see insert). The Hymn Sing will begin at approximately 11:15 and end at 11:45.
ADULT FAITH FORMATION – is on break today for Reunion Sunday. Pastor Dave begins a new four-part series next Sunday called “Angels and Demons: Myths, Misconceptions and Biblical Meaning.” Adult Faith Formation meets in the Library between worship services, beginning at approximately 10:15.
CHILDREN’S FAITH FORMATION/SUNDAY SCHOOL – for kids ages 3 through 3rd grade! This month we’re studying the Fruit of the Spirit. We’ll meet in the Youth Room starting about 10 minutes after the first service and finishing at 10:50. We hope to see you there!
YD ON WEDNESDAY – at 7 pm in the Youth Room. We’ll be talking about the miracles of Jesus. See you there!
WELCA BIBLE STUDY LEADERS – are invited to meet with Pastor Dave on Thursday at 10 am in the Conference Room. Bring your Gather magazines and your Bibles.

PAGETURNERS BOOK CLUB – meets on the first Monday of each month at Hildegard Schmidt’s house (425-747-5249) to discuss books chosen by members. The next meeting is on Monday, February 1 at 3 p.m. We’ll discuss “The Winter Palace” by Eva Stackniak. Upcoming books include “Wild Swans” by Yung Chang in March and “All the Light We Cannot See” by Anthony Doerr in April. All are welcome.
TO ALL WHO KNEW AND LOVED KEN NELSON – I want to thank you for the flowers, calls, cards, and food that you provided. It meant a lot to our family. A big thank you to Pastor Dave for being with us when Ken passed. Thanks to Pastor Adrienne for being at Ken’s inurnment, the service was really nice. THE CROSS OF CHRIST YOUTH ARE AT IT AGAIN! – Please help us as we collect food and donations for the “Souper Bowl of Caring,” a national organization that mobilizes youth to address hunger in their communities. 100% of your donations will support food distribution programs at Hopelink here in Bellevue. We’ll be collecting food and donations on Super Bowl Sunday February 7.
SUPPORT THE BETHEL INSTITUTION – This non-profit, Protestant hospital and organization Germany serve physically and mentally challenged children and adults in Germany. One way to help is by sending canceled commemorative and international stamps, which they process and sell (leave about 1/4″ around edge). An envelope for donated stamps is on the bulletin board by the Library door. Thank you.
THANK YOU FOR THE MEAL – to Deborah Circle and the Community Outreach Team for being a Thrivent Action Team that served dinner on Monday at Congregations’ for the Homeless Emergency Winter Shelter. AND MORE THANKS FOR ANOTHER MEAL – to everyone who provided food for the meal served at the Family Winter Shelter at St. Peter United Methodist Church on January 21. It was very rewarding to hear “thank-you” from the folks as they received their plates of delicious food. THE SOPHIA WAY – needs breakfast and lunch foods for the weekends such as: yogurt, cottage cheese, and string cheese; items to make sandwiches like bread, cheese, sandwich meats, canned tuna, canned chicken; as well as canned soups. Drop off at Day Center between 12:30 and 2pm. There is also an Amazon Wish List on the Sophia Way website for additional items that are needed. THE LARKS – are planning a Skagit Valley Tulip Tour on Thursday, April 14. The tour will leave from Cross of Christ at 8:30 am and return at approximately 6 pm. The cost of tour is $70 per person, a lunch BBQ is available for an additional $8 – $15. A sign-up sheet is available at the Information Desk in the Narthex.
