REFORMATION SUNDAY – Next Sunday, October 25. We will celebrate the work of the Holy Spirit in re-forming the Church through Martin Luther and others with festive celebrations at both services.  We traditionally wear red, the symbolic color representing the Holy Spirit, and of course sing with gusto Luther’s great hymn, “A Mighty Fortress!”

ADULT FAITH FORMATION – We are wrapping up our series on “The Blessing of the Four Gospels” today as we focus on the Gospel of John. Join Pastor Dave in the Library about 10 minutes after the service, until 10:55.  Up next: Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s magnificent book, “The Cost of Discipleship,” beginning next week.

LWR SCHOOL KITS – Due to the Syrian conflict, Lutheran World Relief has an urgent need for school kits for the children in refugee camps.  Money to assemble and send kits is needed; make out checks to Cross of Christ and add either LWR school kits or LWR shipping fund to the memo line.

CHILDREN’S FAITH FORMATION – There is no Preschool through 3rd grade class today due to the YD retreat.  Children’s Faith Formation will return next Sunday.

THE SOPHIA WAY –   Special request for bus passes, food gift cards and gas cards are needed at the Office to give to women who stop by looking for services.  Bus passes are also needed at the Day Center. Contact Dorinda Otto to learn more.
